Add an interactive element for your guests so that they can personally create a memento for you! Banish away those disposable cameras and here is why:
- Most of your friends now have digital cameras which makes sharing so much easier.
- The quality of disposable camera photos are poor (did you know the flash on those cameras are only good for 2-3 feet?)
- By the time you buy those cameras, process the film, and make multiple copies, it could be quite costly. You are better off using the money towards your professional photography.
- It doesn’t make a very big impact on the overall experience of the event.
Polaroid guest books are also really popular and I’ve seen guests have a lot of fun with them. Well, here is another alternative: photo booths! Yes, the old mall staple is back!
Photo Booth Scrapbooks: This is a classic photo booth and the rental comes with unlimited photos, setup, breakdown, onsite technician, and a scrapbook. This one does black & white photos only, which is great for a retro feel. They say they are local but I haven’t figured out where they are located.
Digital Photo Booth from Talk of the Town Variety Entertainment: This company is based in Rockville. A pretty standard photo booth. What’s cool: custom logo insertion in 1 of the picture frames (add’l charge).
Poshbooth.com: This is a digital photo booth based in Northern Virginia company that delivers free within the metro DC area. What’s cool: web hosting of photos, hi res CD of images, customize logo or name on the outside of the booth (extra charge).
Snapshot Studio brought to you by Love Life Images Photography: OK this isn’t a photo booth but similar idea. A digital camera is setup somewhere with a back drop. You take the remote control, ham it up, and click! I’ve seen it in action and it is so much fun!
