Recently, we’ve seen more weddings with no wedding party – no bridesmaids nor groomsmen – or with only one attendant on each side. This was the case in this summer wedding at the Meridian House in Washington, DC. As we were planning this wedding, having no wedding party simplified each part of the wedding day. We loved some of the unique touches that our clients brought to their celebration. All photos by Kurstin Roe
Loved this soft bouquet created by Elegance and Simplicity of white and ivory roses, white stock and astilbe, with accents of light pink astilbe and various greenery.
The couple was married by the two judges for whom they clerked as attorneys.
To honor the groom’s Indian heritage, our couple exchanged floral garlands during their wedding ceremony.
Loved this Dandelion Green tablecloth from Party Rental, accented with white and green flowers, is the perfect touch for a summer wedding.
I also loved the simplicity yet modern edge to this tabletop place setting with the Royce Placid Blue tablecloth, Horizon Ivory Textured white napkins, and the White Coup Platinum Border china – all from Party Rental.
For family-style dinner service, you need floral centerpieces with a small footprint. These tall floral centerpieces used a vase with a small base which gave us plenty of room for the food platters.
Main Event Caterers designed this interesting First Course of Green Salad, paired with a Mango Lassi Soup Shooter and a Deconstructed Potato and Pea Samosa.
Try serving fun desserts like an ice cream bar, an assortment of pies and a mix of cheesecakes. Why not?
