In this summer heat, let’s cool it down today with a look back at a late fall wedding in Washington, DC. With the wedding ceremony held at the historic Holy Trinity Catholic Church, it made perfect sense to take photos throughout the streets of Georgetown with the colorful fall foliage as a backdrop, before heading to the Fairmont Hotel. What I loved about coordinating this wedding: the groom’s white tux from The Black Tux, the couple’s very expressive faces, how much fun their families had, and the bride’s brother’s impromptu song performance. Enjoy! All photos by Kurstin Roe
How pretty is the light?
Loved the colors and texture of this bouquet from Petals Edge dahlia, celosia, stock, astilbe and seeded ecucalyptus
The burgundy Scabiosas are charming in the bridesmaids bouquets from Petals Edge.
Quiet adoring glances during the wedding ceremony. This is why you need a top notch photographer.
Paperzest designed these classic escort cards, and also menu cards, programs and table numbers with a champagne colored backing.
The Fairmont staff was kind to make a mini gluten-free version of the cake for the bride and a guest. That’s hospitality!
The bride and her Mom enjoying themselves at the reception.
The bride’s brother joined the Bachelor Boys Band on stage for a Beatles song, the groom’s favorite band.

I don’t know if it is a trend or not and I hope it is but I really enjoy the return to more formal / black tie weddings. Everyday life has become quite casual these days and it’s nice to get dressed up once in a while. Click here to see more fall wedding inspiration and weddings at the Fairmont Hotel.
