As a wedding planner, most of our clients only work with us once. But when a family hires you for a second wedding in the family, it feels extra special to be part of another significant milestone in their lives. For this late summer wedding at the Meridian House in Washington, DC, this was for a repeat family. We had planned the bride’s brother’s wedding (which was held in Georgetown Washington DC – this was one where we had to change the wedding reception venue the night before the wedding) several year’s prior. For us, it was lovely to reconnect and see how their family has grown.
On this early September day, this couple wanted a garden party with a bit of modern vintage vibes. A color palette of pastels of pink, peach, orange, lavender, light blue, ivory, and white was used throughout the wedding ceremony, cocktails, and dinner designs.

With weather being unsettled all day, we were unsure if the rains would force us to move all parts of the wedding indoors. But the weather gods were on our side. Look at the sunlight that Neysha Bauer captured!
Loved this organic hand-tied style bouquet with sweet pea, garden roses, wildflowers, anemone, butterfly ranunculus, and delphinium from Bee Inspired Events.
In lieu of bouquets for the bridesmaids, Bee Inspired Events designed these baskets for them. How cute!

I love a forceful stomp of the glass during this Jewish-interfaith wedding ceremony.
The flower girls were adorable wearing cute flower crowns.
For cocktails, guests enjoyed music, an oyster bar, and a photobooth in the Library and Drawing Room of Meridian House.
After countless weddings we’ve planned at Meridian House, this was our first time where guests enjoyed dinner in the Linden Grove. Our floral designer repurposed some of the flowers from the chuppah for dinner.
Of course, everyone needs a Fathead of their pet cat at their wedding.
How cute is this party dress with the beaded top and feathered skirt?
