We are delighted that one of Washington, DC‘s best wedding photographers, Procopio Photography, recognized Event Accomplished as one top 15 wedding Planners. This recognition appeared in the World’s Best Wedding Photos blog. It is also featured in Procopio Photography’s blog. In Spring 2022, we worked with Cicely and her team on this joyful fusion Indian wedding. In the next few weeks, we will be featuring more photos from this vibrant, gay wedding. Backyard Indian Fusion Wedding in Virginia
I love the colorful wedding attire for Indian / South Asian weddings. As Covid restrictions were being lifted in Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia, it felt good to be planning weddings again. Our clients had planned a destination wedding. But in the spring of 2021, the uncertainty of overseas travel safety led the couple to host a backyard wedding in Virginia at the groom’s parents’ home instead for a small group of friends and family.
Our happy bride, with her hair and makeup done by Norma Rio of Bridal Artistry, getting ready for her first of two ceremonies.
Such a stunning skirt in reds and pinks with the floral patterns quite appropriate for a backyard wedding.
Yes you can do a fun baraat even at home!
The exchange of jaimala garlands at the start of the Hindu wedding ceremony
After the Hindu ceremony, we flipped the focal point to the opposite side of the tent for a Christian ceremony
Getting help from her bridesmaids, our bride changed into a different wedding dress for her second Christian ceremony.

Spring Gujarati Indian Wedding in Virginia
About two months ago, this gorgeous Indian wedding was featured in Maharani Weddings and now here are more photos from this wedding in Manassas, Virginia. I honestly don’t know how our clients do it, getting up at 3am to start hair and makeup and then partying until well past midnight. No wonder our bride took a short nap while changing in the afternoon into her evening outfit. All photos by Photographick Studios
I really like the lattice design for the back of this mandap. It’s somehow modern and traditional at the same time.
While the wedding day is a happy one, I love this photo of the traditional vidaai, where the bride’s parents send off their newly married daughter with her new husband. It’s an emotional moment every time.
Loved the design from Imperial Decor
I love introducing the newlyweds to the drumming of a dhol. Very celebratory!
Saima Khan of Saima Says Design designed these modern, acrylic signs, as well as the gold table numbers below. The wedding’s branding was consistent from the garba to the wedding ceremony and reception.
Our bride’s father was a very entertaining and funny man!
As a late night snacks, our couple hired Captain Cookie & the Milk Man to stop by for some ice cream sandwiches. So good! They even got to step inside the truck and served a few guests!
